Here is an opportunity for doctors to share skills with some of the world’s poorest countries on placements lasting 12-24 months. iVolunteer Overseas is working in partnership with VSO, an international development charity, to recruit experienced doctors to work across sub Saharan Africa. With a range of jobs available in the medical sector, there are plenty of opportunities for those looking to take a mid-career sabbatical or seeking a nearing retirement option

Skills and Qualification
As a minimum, applicants must be MBBS qualified with at least 5 years’ post-registration experience. Most roles require additional specialist knowledge and training experience in areas such as obstetrics, paediatrics, surgery and/or HIV & AIDS.
On ground -Support and Finances
VSO volunteers must be prepared to live and work at a grass roots level and will be provided with a basic living allowance and accommodation of a similar standard to their local colleagues. Volunteer also receive training both before they depart and when they arrive overseas, return flights, medical insurance, financial grant on their return.
