The financial Package can be divided into two parts

	Cash Component : This includes Grants and Stipend that are given to volunteers.
	a.	Grants : While in placement volunteers are supported through grants. A volunteer that completes 2 year of placement receives a total of 3796 pounds ( Approximately Rs 303680 @ Rs. 80 = 1 British Pound).
	b	Stipend : Stipend is given per month to a volunteer while he or she is in their placement country in the currency of placement country. Since VSO works in more then 27 countries worldwide the stipend is calculated based on cost of living concept. For e.g. in Nepal a volunteer might need Rs.12000 per month in Nepali Currency ( 120 pounds) where as in Kenya the volunteer might need 17200 Kenyan Shillings (123 pounds). This could vary to 1250 Kina (221 pounds) in Papua New Guinea Papua New guinea is twice as expensive then Kenya. The important thing to understand is that VSO insures that all volunteers gets at par allowance where ever they work which is good enough for a healthy lifestyle for the volunteer but not enough to save and send back home.
	Non-Cash component
	a	Accommodation: All VSO volunteers are provided with accommodation. This is basic accommodation that the program office in each country provides. Again it may vary from country to country depending upon what is available. VSO strives to provide every volunteer safe and clean accommodation with your own bedroom.
	b	Medical Insurance: While volunteers are overseas they are medically covered by VSO. In Indian rupees the cost of the insurance is about Rs. 77000 for 2 years
	c	VISA and Airline Tickets: On average they costs about Rs. 80000 per volunteer
