| iVolunteer Overseas (IVO) is
a joint initiative of MITRA and VSO that offers a unique opportunity
for qualified and experienced Indian professionals to share
their skills with disadvantaged people in the developing countries
of Asia, Africa and the Caribbean/Pacific regions.
This program is an avenue for personal and professional growth,
as volunteers will work in challenging environments, live
in ways that are sensitive to the cultural values of others,
and develop relationships based on shared circumstances and
mutual respect.
Until now VSO's volunteer recruitment has been in the UK,
the Netherlands, Canada, Philippines, Uganda and Kenya. With
iVolunteer Overseas program VSO is started to recruit volunteers
from India in recognition of the skilled and committed volunteer
available in India.
VSO Volunteers make a two-year commitment to provide help
where it is most needed, share knowledge and different ways
of working, and provide training on specific skills, all in
the spirit of mutual growth. Being a VSO Volunteer will enable
you to build relationships and work effectively while serving
the needs of disadvantaged people such as poor, or physically
weak, vulnerable or isolated groups.
iVolunteer Overseas is currently looking for volunteers in
the professional areas of NGO management, Microfinance, Fundraising
and IT training.
