HIV and AIDS

VSO has 20 programmes working in HIV and AIDS in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. Our objective is to combat stigma, support prevention, and increase the availability of treatment, care and support for those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.

Volunteer working in the area of HIV and AIDS come from a wide range of healthcare, social and community work, programme management and communication backgrounds. Our volunteers offer practical healthcare and treatment, including therapy to address the impacts of HIV and AIDS. Volunteers help to manage programmes to support those living with HIV and AIDS. They also support  advocacy initiatives to encourage policy change, networking activities to build links between communities and governments. Some placements include raising awareness and money for projects working in the area of HIV and AIDS.
